Ram Kaji Gosai was born in Bhaktapur, Nepal – the birthplace of Buddha and home to the tallest mountain in the world, Mt. Everest.
At the age of 18, Ram started his culinary journey by working at a small restaurant. He worked for three years at the restaurant where he learned western and Japanese cuisines.
In 1999, Ram started his own restaurant in Nepal and got an early taste of entrepreneurship. He ran the restaurant for three years and with big dreams and high ambitions, he decided to move to Europe in 2002.
A hard working and determined person, Ram gained a lot of experience in Europe. He worked with top Japanese and Nepalese Sushi Masters in Holland, Spain, Portugal, Norway, and big hotels like Ostsee Scharbeutz, Schleswig-Holstein in Germany.
In 2015, Ram took Sushi classes in Volkschule Bad Schwartau (School of Germany) and completed Private Advanced Sushi Chef Course in Los Angeles, USA with famous Japanese Sushi Master Andy Matsuda.
After working for many years in top restaurants and hotels, Ram wanted to pursue his abandoned entrepreneurial journey and help others learn the art of Sushi making.
In July 2016, Ram opened Global Sushi Academy, a Sushi school dedicated to produce top Sushi Masters in a short period of time. Looking back at his struggles, Ram wants to train enthusiastic and dedicated people to become Sushi Masters in no time.
Through Global Sushi Academy, Ram aims to produce more than 100 Sushi Masters every year and promote healthy Japanese cuisines around the globe.
